Eagle Fifth Graders Take Gold at LI Dance CompetitionMonday, June 25, 2018

Recently, Patchogue-Medford students took gold (first place) at a “friendly dance competition” held in Port Washington. Twelve fifth graders (six girls and six boys) were chosen to represent Eagle School in the “Colors of the Rainbow” dance event. For the students, it was the culmination of a 20-week dance residency with Dancing Classrooms (see Building Confidence through Dance). Seven Long Island schools competed in the competition. There were three levels of recognition. Two schools were awarded each level. Eagle School was given the gold medal, which was the highest level.

“We were honored to be chosen to participate and thrill to take gold,” reported an Eagle ES teacher. To see the students (wearing purple sashes) kick up their heel, click on the following videos. Spoiler alert: The students are fantastic!
